A Tibetan gilt bronze depicting Namkha Yeshe (Heavenly Wisdom) wearing on his hat glasses for meditation and snow blindness. Height : 12.4 cm.
These glasses were made of yak hair, hence the lattices on the front of them.
A 16th-century lama in the Rubin Museum's collection also wears these glasses.
