This exceptional bronze Buddha, dating to the early 16th century, is a significant piece from the Third Lanna period, specifically attributed to the Chai Prakarn school in the Mekong area. The statue is depicted in the Bhumisparsha mudra, or "earth-touching" gesture, which represents the moment of the Buddha's enlightenment. Its striking features include eyes inlaid with silver, a hallmark of fine craftsmanship from the era. Standing 86 cm high and with an 18-inch lap, this piece beautifully combines artistic detail with historical and spiritual significance.
