Uncommon Butsudan decorated with a Tanka representing the Buddha Amida seated in meditation. The Buddha is seated on a throne decorated with lotus flowers. Good condition. Meiji period (1868-1912). The Butsudan is a Japanese Buddhist travel hotel that can be of different sizes and accommodate Buddha in different positions or, more rarely, in the form of a Tanka. These objects were passed down from generation to generation.
