82 - Offering dry-lacquered box - Hsun-It - Myanmar Burma

Old Hsun it, a lacquered, woven bamboo offering box consisting of 6 interlocking parts, was used by devotees to bring food to monasteries. Rice was placed in the large bowl, followed by vegetables on a tray, then fish or meat, and often tamarind candies were placed under the small upper bowl, which could serve as a ladle or cup. Region of Bagan, Myanmar, first half of the 20th century.

The artisan's name is elegantly inscribed on the top of the bowl, while the family name to which it belonged is written on the bottom, allowing each person to find their own.

46 cm in height and 40 cm in diameter, which is a perfect symmetry.

The old and very decorative object with a timeless shape.

STATE
Good condition for an item from this era and that has been used by at least three generations, it bears the marks of its use, which does not detract from its charm (see photos). The item could be waxed to restore its shine, but personally, I prefer to leave objects in their original state.
