Hsun Ok, offering box made of spiral bamboo, turned wooden tip, inclusion of pieces of mirrors and colored glass, gilding with gold leaf. Technique known as "Thayo Shweca-Hmansi", which consists of the production of a kind of putty composed of oil, burned and crushed animal bones, ashes and lacquer sap. This paste was used to model the decorative motifs of the Hsun Ok. Bagan region, Burma, circa early 20th century.
The Hintha, the sacred bird, is present above the lacquer, it is a symbol very represented in Burmese art, considered more precisely as a swan in Burmese mythology. It is made of carved wood and metal.
These models were only used rarely, for important ceremonies and were often offered to monasteries, where they then served as decorative objects.
