Micro and macroscopic examination
Depiction of Buddha Shakyamuni in a seated position with his legs crossed on a relatively simple pedestal, which suggests a late piece in the style. He is depicted with stylized hair spikes. He has open eyes and an aquiline nose, which is typical of the style. He is in dhyana mudra. The robe covers both shoulders, and the typical Ushaped drape at the neck confirms a late period in the style. The style is very classic, which suggests an origin from a site known as Sari Bahlol or Buner.
